Scrap It Girl April Color Challenge.

 Black & white + one color!

I so loved working with these colors. 

I used black & white then added hot pink.

Once I applied the colors I created a floral cluster on

 top of greenery. Then I applied diecut and rhinestone flourishes.

The diecut butterfly added the perfect touch.

 

These days I enjoy creating just about all styles and types of artistry.

From layouts, digi images, mixed media, to cards. I just love it!

Scrap It Girl February Recipe Challenge!

Scrap It Girl February Recipe Challenge. 

For this recipe challenge we need you to use: 

Blue, Arrows, and Numbers.

I went with a card using a blue denmi pocket and flowers.

You can see the arrows and 2015 at the bottom.

Scrap It Girl Friday Favorite!

Hi there crafty peeps!

Rachelle here sharing my weekly Friday Favorite project for

Scrap It Girl!

This week's favorite is a fall project I enjoyed creating.

Here is a look:

I really had fun working with these wooden leaves and canvas.

I used gold beads, light acrylic paint, and flocking.

I created the background using my burlap stencil by Tim Holtz Collection

using homemade texture paste.

Here is the receipe courteous of my fave design artist Gabrielle Pollacco.

  It's a really easy recipe, quick to make and super inexpensive! 

IT REALLY WORKS WELL!!!!

Just like the store version.

TEXTURE PASTE/MEDIUM RECIPE

1/2 cup Baking Soda or Talcum Powder

2 Tablespoons white school glue

1-2 Tablespoons White Acrylic Paint

(some water may be necessary)

INSTRUCTIONS:

I took an air tight container and put in my baking soda.  I then added the glue, acrylic paint and started mixing. I just mixed to get a smooth consistency, I added a few drops of water to get it to the consistency I wanted.  There are many types of texture mediums in the store, from light to heavy, so the amount of water you add will depend on the heaviness of the texture you are looking for.  Done!

(The mixture keeps well in the air tight container, I just checked it and it's still perfectly usable....some of the moisture was floating on top, I just gave it a stir and it was good to go!)

Gabi said she now uses talcum powder and it works well. I like using the baking soda.

Mixed Media for Scrap It Girl November Challenge!

Hi there friends!

Rachelle here and welcome to November.

Glad you stopped by today because I want to share my latest

mixed media project for

Scrap it Girl's 

November Challenge using paints, water colors, or gelatos.

Here we go!!!!!

"Live, Laugh, & Love"

I had so much fun with this creation starting off with a canvas and my favorite stencils. Lately I have become more addicted to mixed media. I have been trying to pick up all the basics and more.

More Views:

 I used acrylic paint for the words which were my fave combo colors.

Next, time for the textured background and spirtz. Then I used water colored paints to highlight.

Once I completed the background and let dry it was time for the embellishments.

  As you can see I used florals, butterflies, Dusty Attic chipboard, and pearl flourishes. I added metal also which gives your project intriqute beauty.

Scrap It Girl September Challenge!

Hi there scrappers!

Welcome to September!

The summer just flew by and now we are

on the steps of fall!

Rachelle here sharing my challenge example. 

Let's start with

Scrap It Girl's September Challenge. 

Just create anything using stencils or masks.

Here is my take:

"Cherish Memories."

For the background I my new Prima stencil and texture paste. After drying

I applied ink and mist to highlight the background texture.

Close Views:

 Then it was time to begin places the cardstock on the background.

I used my beautiful wood products from

Unique Laser Wood Designs. 

The flowers, frame, and small butterfly added beauty to the main

focal point.

 The remaining fun comes when adding the embellishments, title, and journaling.

It reads:

"Last hurrah of summer. Olivia enjoys picking and smelling the daisies."

There you have it!
